Sure Ryan, Why Not
If you know Ryan you know that he can come up with some interesting stuff. Last night, as he was getting ready for bed, he asked me if he could sleep in the linen closet. He probably got that idea because A) there are blankets on the floor of the linen closet and B) he requires the linen closet door to be open when he sleeps. My response to that request was "sure Ryan, why not". So, here is a picture of my son sleeping in the linen closet, of course with his stuffed dog, Darby.

Katie and Cathy got Baptized!
On Sunday my sister, Katie, and her boyfriend's daughter, Cathy, were baptized! I am so proud of them. Both were nervous to get up in front of the entire church and pledge their lives to Christ. They both are very shy. But, they did it! My parents came down to attend the service. It was a nice a weekend spent with the family.
Ok, how bad is this? This is the only picture that I could find of Katie and Cathy. Mental note: start taking more pictures of other people besides by kids. This picture was taken for Ally's kindergarten graduation (May 2009). In between Katie and Cathy is Lee, Cathy's dad and Katie's boyfriend.

Family Time
This weekend my parents came down from Taos and spent the night at our house. They don't stay with us often since my sister lives a couple miles away and has a guest room for them to sleep in. When they stay at our house they sleep in our bed and Henry or I will sleep with Ryan in his bed while the other one sleeps on the couch. Ally and Ryan had been asking them to sleep at our house so they obliged. It was a nice weekend. Saturday evening we drove to a cousins wedding in Grants. It was nice seeing a lot of family. On Sunday all the girls went shopping while the boys ran their errands. It was nice spending time with the family.

Here is picture of me and Henry at the wedding. We sure don't take enough pictures of the two of us. Nor do we take enough pictures of just the 4 of us. I think the last picture I can find with the 4 of us is from Disney World. Now that is ridiculous.

Halloween 2010
Halloween was very laid back this year due to the fact that we had just driven in from El Paso. On Friday we got a call that Henry's abuelita in El Paso had a heart attack. So, Friday evening we headed to El Paso. Abuelita was in ICU, then on Saturday they moved her to a regular room. We left El Paso Sunday morning. We were home a couple hours then got ready to go trick or treating. Ryan was digging in his toy box and found his Transformers Bumblebee Mask and arm gun. He asked if he could be Bumblebee to go trick or treating. Sure, why not. So, I gave him his black jogger and a yellow T-shirt and, ta-da, he was Bumblebee.

Ally didn't want to wear her belt (with the buckle I made) nor the red yarn braid I made. Ryan wanted to wear his flip flops. That was fine. We were all tired from traveling. So off we went, trick or treating around the neighborhood. We live in an awesome, kid friendly neighborhood. After half an hour of trick or treating Ryan said "I'm tired I want to go home." Ally agreed, so we went home and handed out candy for a bit, then called it a night.
Home Made Halloween Costumes
Well, since I am a stay at home mom now, I made the kids Halloween costumes. Now, this wasn't my plan from the start. I only chose to do this after my kids chose to be Jessie and Woody from Toy Story and I could not find their sizes in any store. I went to every Halloween store, every Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, and Target in Albuquerque. I even had my mom and sister check the Wal-Mart in Taos, Espanola, and Santa Fe. I did find one Jessie costume online in Ally's size, for $60! I don't think so. However, after making their costumes, I probably spent that much on supplies. Oh, but I have the memories.

I bought a white shirt, sewed the yellow material on, made and sewed on the yellow cuffs, and put the red "rope" details on".
Smile for the camera Ryan. Yeah right. I made the vest, bought a yellow shirt and drew the red lines on, bought a belt at Goodwill, made the buckle and sheriff badge and put a holster on his belt.

I also made Ally's chaps. They all ready had their boots and their hats. Pretty fancy stuff.
Ryan's Play Date
A couple weeks ago I picked up Ryan had his friend Cooper over after school. They ran in circles playing with every toy they could get their hands on. The settled on shooting the marshmallow guns from the top of the swing set.
